How Has Lambda Chi Influenced You?
Thank you to our alumni members who recently responded to let us know how Lambda Chi Alpha has influenced their lives. Here’s what a few brothers had to say about their time in the fraternity:

John Fay ‘01: “Many of my decisions in college were influenced by Lambda Chi, my fraternity brothers and the college environment. While I can say the amount of mistakes I made throughout college may be greater than the good choices, the fraternity experience was amazing and I am thankful for the friendships that I have because of it.”

Wayne Lee Adamson ‘89: “Lambda Chi helped me to work with a variety of personalities with greatly different backgrounds and experiences. It made me more aware of the need to work together at goals. It helped to make me a more outgoing person than I was previously.”

Beta Kappa Spotlight: High Tau Chris Morris BK 1766
As a fifth-year senior at Georgia Tech I am beginning to develop a true sense of my accomplishment as a student and as a brother of Lambda Chi Alpha. I had little idea the impact this fraternity would have on my life going through associate membership three years ago. I joined Lambda Chi my second year at Georgia Tech because the LXA brothers share common values with my own. We’re a house of trophy-winning athletes and dedicated scholars. I enjoy taking advantage of all that college has to offer with BKs: summer Braves' games, white-water kayaking in northern Georgia, road trips, Wednesday Night Parties, unforgettable study abroad expeditions, and everything in between. College would have been pretty damn boring without Lambda Chi. I would like to personally thank Brother Ray Parrish BK 956 for offering his guidance in my decision to join LXA.

I currently hold the office of High Tau; and outside of contending with weekly air conditioning repairs the job has been enjoyable thanks to an outstanding ’09 Zeta. Currently we have a healthy cash flow and minimal outstanding balances. The most difficult part of the job is to ensure brothers pay their balances by the end of the period. I am proud to report I have been able to reduce outstanding debt (inactive brothers) by greater than 50%. I enjoy giving back to Lambda Chi in my duty as a member of the executive board and as treasurer of the Beta Kappa Zeta chapter.

In ZAX,
Chris Morris BK 1766

James Scott Kavanaught Passes Into Chapter Eternal
By Charles Adkins

Scott was a devoted brother, a devoted friend, a devoted husband, and a devoted father.  Scott died suddenly on Wednesday, May 6, 2009.

As a fraternity brother, Scott meant something to each and every one of us.  Personally, he was a dear friend.  My memories of Scott are flooded with a diverse imagery and texture of a beloved friend:  guitar music wafting out of 306, blue eyes peering out of a mask of Rambling Wreck dirt and filth, Ho-Ho Let’s go [add something crazy here],  peeing on the G at the 50 yard line of Stanford Stadium, Grumpy’s pizza, Moonshadow, or maybe that LXA jacket he always wore.  After graduating, our lives parted until around 1992 when Scott and Lisa were visiting Atlanta.  Scott left his LXA jacket in my car.  For fifteen years, that little LXA jacket, too small for me, sat in my attic and every time I saw it I thought of Scott.  Fifteen years later, our paths crossed again as we were both living in Savannah and I had the chance to give Scott his cherished LXA jacket back.  That little LXA jacket brought a wonderful brother back into my life.

There's Still Time to Add Your Name to the 2008-2009 Honor Roll!
The end of the giving year is fast approaching on August 31! Be sure that you’re listed on the next published Honor Roll of Donors by making your donation before the giving year ends.

A few of our donors recently shared the influence that the fraternity has had on them, and why they support Lambda Chi in their alumni years:

• “My best friends are my fraternity brothers.”
• “Lambda Chi has allowed me to be a strong relationship builder, which has helped me in my career. More importantly, it’s allowed me to be a happier person.”
• “I would say the fraternity has completely influenced the person I am today.”

Hasn’t Lambda Chi had a similar impact on you too?

Let us know the ways it has – and make your annual fund donation – before the giving year ends on August 31.

Interact with Lambda Chi Alpha Brothers
We’re excited to introduce a new place in our new alumni community, where you can interact directly with groups of Lambda Chi Alpha brothers. You can participate in the brotherhood community, create a new group for you and your friends, or join an existing one! Within each group’s page, the members have control over the content. You can upload and share links, videos, photos, events and comments with other members. Create and/or join as many groups as you’d like...such as a group for your pledge class, another for alumni in your major/career field, and maybe another for brothers in your state/region.
